Our news

I’m now 4 weeks into my new role as Talent Acquisition Manager at Scantec so I thought it was perhaps time I introduced myself properly!

With over 13 years’ experience in recruitment as a 360 Recruiter and including time as Internal Recruiter, I’ve been through the rollercoaster of highs and lows the industry brings, a recession, company restructures and more recently the challenges of recruiting through a global pandemic!  For me, the highs of the job as a Recruiter far outweigh the lows and there are things I absolutely LOVE about the job.

Having spent a lengthy part of my career within a large corporate recruiter where I had a track record of success, strong relationships and an established client network, you may think, why move in the middle of a pandemic?!  Good question.  Firstly, I am a great believer in challenging myself(!) but I’m also passionate about people, brands and culture and ultimately those are the things that have brought me to Scantec.

When I first started discussing the opportunity at Scantec, I found there was so much about the business and the team that resonated with me and was aligned in terms of shared values, culture and ambition. Scantec are one of the largest single site recruitment operations in the UK, based in the Wirral, established over 30 years ago and specialising in the Engineering, Scientific, Manufacturing and Technical Sectors.

One of the things that really struck me initially was the number of long serving employees.  With a largely home-grown leadership team, there really is the opportunity to progress your career here, along with low staff attrition, focus on high standards and a culture of transparency. Since joining the business, that theme of transparency is evident. When speaking to my new colleagues across the business about what they enjoy about working here, there is a consistent theme of ’transparency and trust’.

Recruiters are given the tools and support to be successful but the trust to go and deliver without being micromanaged. All employees are provided with a laptop and equipment to enable them to work flexibly with a balance of office-based and remote working, cutting that commute time and conducive to a work-life balance that not many recruiters offer.

So, I’m excited to have joined the business and looking forward to recruiting the absolute best talent to join our team as we look to continue Scantec’s future growth plans.
