Design Manager – Water/Wastewater (Contract)
Location: Solihull
Working model: Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
Duration: Minimum 6 months
Outside IR35 | 47.5 hours per week
We’re working with a leading consultancy supporting the Severn Trent Water AMP7 & AMP8 Frameworks, seeking a Contract Design Manager to lead the delivery of non-infrastructure wastewater projects.
This medium term contract mobilisation role requires someone who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced framework team and drive technically sound, carbon-efficient design solutions.
The Role
Reporting to the Framework Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design delivery process across a portfolio of wastewater treatment schemes. This includes coordination of multidisciplinary teams, ensuring buildability, design assurance, and compliance with BIM and NEC4 standards.
Key Responsibilities

Define design scope and deliverables

Manage design programmes, changes, and reviews

Lead on DfMA and carbon reduction strategies

Conduct design, technical assurance, and CDM reviews

Implement BIM strategy (ISO 19650)

Support procurement processes through design input

Ensure compliance with governance and client expectations
Experience & Qualifications

HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline

Significant experience in non-infrastructure wastewater design (Mechanical, Electrical, ICA, or Civils)

Understanding of NEC4 contracts, CDM 2015, and BIM standards

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams in a contractor-led environment

Full driving licence and ability to work from the Solihull site as required
