As part of the companies continued growth an exciting new opportunity has arisen as an NDT (non-destructive testing) operative for our clients technical services division.

The successful candidate will join their experienced team of testing operatives who travel around the London area surveying street lighting assets for local authorities and asset managers.

Candidates without NDT qualifications will be upskilled and trained however you will need to demonstrate experience of working on street lighting columns. The testing equipment you will be trained to use tests the thickness of the column to see if it needs replacing. You will be expected to test up to 40 columns per day.

The position will require the individual to work within a dynamic team, utilising a hands‐on approach to measuring and recording data to feedback into their specialist IOS and Android app.

Focus will also be placed on performance, attention to detail and the enthusiasm to train and learn new skills.

The successful candidate will be independent, hardworking, dependable, and committed to getting the job done to a high standard.

Duties of the testing operative should include; ‐
  • Outdoor work all year round.
  • Use of NDT equipment (full training to be provided).
  • Mostly independent working.
  • Data input back into our CRM app.
  • Small scale traffic and public safety management whilst working in public areas.
  • Willingness to travel around the UK in company vehicle so require a clean Full UK Driving License.
  • Occasional overnight stays with daily food allowance.
Essential skills:
  • Previous experience of working within the street lighting industry
  • G39 qualification
Desirable skills of the testing operative may include:
  • Knowledge or understanding of BS EN40, CD354 and GN22.
  • PNC Level 2 Certification in UT 3:1
  • Strong knowledge of non‐destructive testing methods.
Tools to aid the role:
  • Funded training to develop key industry skills.
  • Latest industry equipment for accurate results.
  • Company vehicle (Branded Van) and fuel card.
  • Performance based bonus scheme
Working Hours:

40 hours Monday-Friday - 7am and 8am starts available

Potential for plenty of mid-week and weekend overtime especially in summer months
