BRIDGE TECHNICIAN

Our Client is a leading provider of construction and infrastructure services, providing specialist design and build capabilities.

Due to a significant pipeline of work that they need to deliver, they are currently seeking a Bridge Technician to assist.

They are looking to recruit a 2D/3D CAD Technician for an immediate start. The role is for their design team in Birmingham, however will be home based initially due to the current Covid restructions.  The successful candidate will report to a Senior CAD Technician, but should be able to work independently.

The Bridge Technician will have around 5-10 years’ experience with a demonstrable track record of producing 2D drawings in AutoCAD for Bridge Structures schemes.

A preference is for the candidate to have experience of RC detailing, either manually or using CADS RC. They would also have a preference for the candidate to have some experience in using 3D CAD packages, such as Revit, with a view to being trained up to assist with 3D BIM deliverables.

Our Client is particularly looking for a candidate with a good attitude, willing to learn from Senior members of the team, whilst at the same time sharing their experience with junior members of the Structures Team. A willingness to learn new 3D BIM packages and to proactively help develop their 3D capabilities is also a must.

The hours are typically 40 per week, however they would appreciate flexibility to work overtime during busy times if required.

IT equipment and software licensing will be provided. Candidates should preferably have a consultancy background or consulting experience.

Initially working will be predominately remotely, utilising MS Teams for meetings, though there may be a transition into office working through the contract period.

The role is currently outside IR35, however this may change in April (TBC)
