A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Senior IT Technician to join the business on a permanent basis. My client is seeking an experienced IT Technician who is able to work within a stand alone position on a site level with external support from the wider IT Group. The role reports into the site management with dotted line reporting at into group IT Management level and you will have responsibility for management or and supporting development of IT Graduate and Apprentice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for maintaining the smooth running and operation of local IT Services.
-Responsible for providing support of traceability systems and for factory floor based bespoke applications where appropriate I.
-Responsible for the day to day support of IT Services and ensure that the site has in place a secure and resilient infrastructure
-Support all IT hardware, software, and production based systems within a very fast-paced and constantly changing environment
-Management of Backup, Antivirus, Proxy, Monitoring and Patching
-User account and server log management
-Management of server room security and environmental logging hardware and software
-Contribute to developing and testing disaster recovery plans in line with business policy
-Be the IT support contact for individuals reporting or highlighting issues with systems or equipment
-Support projects which involve IT
-Commissioning of desktop and laptop hardware
-Installing and testing operating systems and software applications as advised Group IT Support Team
-Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems
-Perform personal administration. E.g. expenses, calendar etc.
-Out of hours support
-Managing and liaising with external suppliers and contractors as appropriate

You will be an experienced IT Technician (ITIL preferred) with experience of database technologies (I.E MS SQL Server) and have a proven IT support background of a minimum 2 years. You will need to be a proactive, dynamic, motivational, collaborative team player and able to deliver results in a constantly changing environment. Comfortability of working within a factory / manufacturing environment
