Our Client is a specialist transportation planning/highway and drainage infrastructure design consultancy, offering multi-disciplinary professional services to the private and public sector since 1991. Working from offices based in Manchester, Leeds and London they provide an integrated range of services to clients across the UK.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in their London office. They are looking to recruit a Principal Drainage Engineer to compliment the team in London on a contract or permanent basis.
The Principal Engineer will possess the necessary experience, knowledge and technical expertise to
act as direct client contact and project manager on each commission entrusted to them. They must be
conversant in post planning detail design skills on Infrastructure schemes. Also they will need to
understand and drive the delivery of utility works, including the diversion and review process.
The key design skills will include delivery of the following;
· Highways Specification;
· Detailed Horizontal Design;
· Detailed Vertical Design (including cross sections and long sections, 3D modelling);
· Detailed Pavement / Footway design;
· Highway surface water drainage;
· Signing & Lining;
· Site clearance;
· Setting out;
· Street lighting;
· Kerbing, and
· Standard Construction Details.
The Principal Engineer will provide essential support to the Directors for certain management,
marketing and administrative roles that are essential to the smooth running of the business. They will
act as direct line manager for a number of more junior personnel in relation to both general office and
project-related management issues. The role will require excellent communication skills, both oral and
written, and an ability to present the findings of a project or to represent the interests of the company in
