Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician
Newcastle upon Tyne
3 Shift pattern
£48800 plus benefits

If you’re the kind of engineer who enjoys fixing problems properly (not just patching them up), this one’s worth a look.

We’re working with a global manufacturer that’s invested heavily in its Newcastle site, a recognised Centre of Excellence producing high-quality printed materials for major consumer brands. It’s a busy, fast-moving environment where engineering is genuinely valued, not just seen as a support function.

Why this role stands out

  • You’ll have real input into improvements, not just firefighting

  • A good mix of reactive, preventative, and project work

  • Opportunities to get involved in CAPEX and continuous improvement initiatives

  • A site that takes safety, quality, and engineering standards seriously

  • Chance to support and mentor apprentices, if that’s something you enjoy

What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping production lines running efficiently through planned and reactive maintenance

  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults

  • Identifying and implementing process and line improvements

  • Supporting project work and equipment upgrades

  • Monitoring downtime and performance, helping drive improvements

  • Working closely with production and external suppliers

What we’re looking for

  • A multi-skilled engineer with both mechanical and electrical experience

  • Ideally 5+ years in a manufacturing environment

  • Someone who takes pride in doing things properly and improving how things run

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting

  • A team player who can also work independently when needed

This isn’t a role where you’ll just be ticking boxes or constantly chasing breakdowns. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas, and play a part in improving how the site operates.

If you like being hands-on but also want your voice heard when it comes to improvements, it’s a strong opportunity.

If it sounds like something you’d be open to exploring, feel free to get in touch for a confidential chat.
