HR Administrator – Fixed-Term Contract

6-Month Contract | Chester-based | Start ASAP | 


The Opportunity

We're recruiting an HR Administrator on a fixed-term contract basis to join our clients HR team for 6 months. This role focuses on delivering excellent HR support through inbox management, general HR queries, and administrative tasks. You'll be the first point of contact for many of our employees, handling enquiries professionally and efficiently.

Contract Details: 6 months | Fixed-term contract | Office-based near Chester (4 days per week) | Start ASAP

This is not an administrative support role in disguise - you'll be doing genuine HR administration work. Grievances and disciplinaries are excluded from your remit, so you can focus on providing great service on the core HR functions that matter. You'll be confident, proactive, and comfortable interacting with employees across the business.


What You'll Be Doing

HR Support & Queries

  • Manage and respond to HR inbox enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Handle general HR queries from employees across the business
  • Provide first-line support and signposting to HR policies and procedures
  • Resolve routine administrative queries with accuracy and efficiency

Administrative Tasks

  • Process HR-related administrative work in support of the HR team
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Support HR processes and procedures as required
  • Ensure confidentiality and data protection at all times

Customer-Facing Support

  • Be the professional face of HR for many employees
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with staff at all levels
  • Manage expectations and provide helpful, proactive guidance
  • Escalate complex matters appropriately to senior HR colleagues

About You

Essential

  • Proven HR administration experience - you know how HR teams work and what good HR support looks like
  • Computer efficiency - confident with standard systems and software, able to pick up new tools quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - clear, professional and helpful in all interactions
  • Organisational skills - able to manage multiple enquiries and prioritise effectively
  • Attention to detail - accuracy matters, especially with HR records and confidential information
  • Proactive approach - you don't wait to be told what to do; you anticipate needs and solve problems
  • Confident and personable - comfortable interacting with employees at all levels
  • Professional discretion -you understand confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Advantageous

  • Experience with Cascade or similar HR management systems (not essential, but helpful)
  • Experience in a similar administrative HR support role
  • Knowledge of HR processes and employment law basics
