Job Titles:

  • Quality Assurance Engineer – PP&E

  • Electrical Quality Control Engineer

Location: Reading / Hybrid
Clearance: SC
Scope: Outside IR35 (pending determination)


Key Objectives

  • Ensure that Quality is represented and maintained throughout all stages of programmes, projects, trials, and production activities.

  • Provide technical guidance and customer support to ensure deliverables and quality targets are achieved.

  • Maintain and enhance personal technical knowledge and capability to support current and future work programmes.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to strengthen Quality capability.

  • Promote and maintain high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality, while being an effective and collaborative team player.


Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of technical assessments using appropriate methodologies and contribute to capability development.

  • Participate in design, technical, and defect reviews, as well as stakeholder meetings, to ensure Quality is fully represented.

  • Manage inspection, calibration, and reporting processes to maintain and demonstrate Quality delivery standards.

  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.


Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

  • Lead Auditor (Quality, Safety & Environment)Desirable

  • Membership of an appropriate technical or professional body – Desirable

  • IOSH Managing SafelyEssential (Training can be provided if required)

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Engineering or Quality Engineering role.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.

  • Experience in recording and reporting both verbal and numerical information.

  • Familiarity with AQAP 2110Desirable

  • Experience working in a customer-facing role – Desirable

  • Comfortable structuring and presenting your own work – Desirable

  • Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information – Desirable

  • Familiar with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements – Desirable

Skills & Abilities

  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload effectively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports and documentation.

  • Ability to interpret and evaluate technical data.

  • Capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels, as well as with external stakeholders and contractors.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
