We are exclusively partnered with a fast-growing, internationally active engineering business that delivers high-integrity technical solutions to clients in over 50 countries. As part of their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Technical Manager to lead their technical function and drive forward product development, project delivery, and operational excellence.
This is a unique opportunity for a capable and commercially aware engineering professional to take a central role in shaping how technical projects are delivered in a business with strong momentum, a global customer base, and a clear vision for the future.
The Role
You will be the technical cornerstone of the organisation—bridging customer requirements, product innovation, and successful project execution. Working closely with internal teams and international manufacturing partners, you’ll lead engineering projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and commercial alignment throughout.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Representing the business in customer-facing design meetings, presenting technical capabilities and tailoring solutions to client needs
- Managing project communication between Sales, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure technical accuracy and clarity
- Overseeing design activities, primarily using SolidWorks, ensuring outputs meet all required standards and performance criteria
- Leading innovation in engineering approaches, solving complex technical challenges with practical, scalable solutions
- Sourcing and managing manufacturing suppliers, acting as the technical point of contact and implementing quality control processes
- Developing and standardising technical documentation, including installation guides, drawings, and manuals
- Ensuring product compliance with a wide range of industry standards and regulatory frameworks
- Creating and executing a global maintenance strategy, including the identification and coordination of international service partners
The Person
You’ll be a highly capable engineering professional with a hands-on, solutions-led approach and the ability to operate effectively across disciplines, geographies, and commercial priorities.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years in an engineering role
- At least 2 years within the asphalt, bitumen, or construction-related sectors
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in an engineering discipline
- Proven experience managing technical projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of systems involving liquid flow, heating, and pipework
- Experience with supplier management and quality assurance processes
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office suite
- Skilled in reading and producing technical documentation, including P&IDs
