A rapidly expanding FMCG supplier of agricultural products to the major retailers is currently seeking an Environmental Sustainability specialist to join their Sustainability team as part of their corporate sustainability agenda.

Reporting to the Director of Sustainability, the Environmental Sustainability Lead / Manager will head up their global environmental strategy from reducing the overall company carbon footprint to working directly with suppliers to minimize the impact of supply chain activities on the global environment.

The successful Environmental Sustainability Lead / Manager will have an academic qualification in environmental or sustainability management with proven experience in carbon foot printing and decarbonisation projects. You will be passionate about sustainability with the ability to influence key stakeholders internally and externally to deliver results against the wider company sustainability targets.

Environmental Sustainability Lead / Manager responsibilities include:
  • Lead the environmental and net-zero strategies for the Group.
  • Be the technical expert for driving the decarbonisation and circularity agenda
  • Establish environmental sustainability KPIs and ensure robust reporting
  • Drive the circularity agenda and innovation in packaging and reducing waste
  • Working with the Technical team, establish best-in-class  agricultural policies and practices
  • Design, develop and implement strategies to raise awareness and increase the capability to deliver environmental commitments
  • Contribute to supplier sustainability development plans and monitor supplier conformance
  • Build strong relationships with the customer environment/climate change teams  to ensure alignment and collaboration
£55,000 - £65,000 (DOE)
Hybrid working optional - occasional travel required to group sites and internationally
