A global FMCG Manufacturer is currently seeking a Production Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. This role will require exceptional leadership and engagement skills with a proven track record in troubleshooting along with a CI and Lean manufacturing acumen and previous experience in delivering change management.

You must have previous experience of working within a high volume, fast paced FMCG Manufacturing organisation (Packaging, Food, Drink manufacturing experience will be deemed advantageous). Any understanding or previous engineering experience would be highly desirable, but not essential.

Production Manager Responsibilities include:

Manage and set priorities for the the whole team in accordance to the ongoing requirements of the business and ensuring the most effective use of available labour & resources.
Ensure that all safe working procedures and practices are fully adhered to having regard to appropriate risk assessment and ensuring the training and technical competence of all team members.
Ensure that all relevant targets, efficiencies, budgets and KPIs are achieved to deliver optimised performance and effective cost control.
Ensure effective communication with all team members and all other key contacts via both formal and informal processes.
Drive and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and team ideas generation/problem solving, coaching team members through to the identification of solutions which help deliver stepped improvements in the manufacturing process.
Ensure the effective and consistent application of all Company standards, policies and procedures, including Disciplinary and Absence Management procedures where appropriate.
Deal promptly and effectively with all escalated queries particularly with regard to quality issues and customer concerns.
Promote the continuous development of all Team Members, ensuring the completion of Personal Development & Training Reviews and contribute to training and succession planning as appropriate.

You will have a full understanding of budget process and control of shift consumables spend and be accountable for overtime and agency costs with a view to minimise. A full understanding of KPI targets and ownership of performance is essential for this role.

Former experience of identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing margin will be desirable and accountability for team’s waste streams and non‐ value added activity.
