A leading FMCG Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Regulatory Officer or Senior Regulatory Officer to join the team. French Speaking would be advantageous for this role.
This Regulatory Officer / Senior Regulatory Officer will be a member of the Technical Services team and be responsible for ensuring that products are legally compliant in their relevant markets, and advising on existing and forthcoming regulatory issues primarily in the fields of food labelling, nutrition, health and other marketing claims, composition, pesticides and contaminants.
End of life packaging claims (internationally) – e.g. biodegradable, recyclable and
Compliance checking of blends, including suitability of ingredients and assessments for pesticide and contaminant compliance experience will be deemed advantageous.
This role has EMEA responsibility.

There will be a requirement to be based on site in Hampshire 1-2 days per week for this role, remainder home working.

Regulatory Officer / Senior Regulatory Officer responsibilities:

Provides guidance on the legality of product labelling. Conducts product label approvals to support Marketing teams’ activities in line with the service level agreement and following the pack copy and artwork sign off process.
Provides guidance on UK, EU and International legislative requirements ensuring legal compliance of current products and shaping the development of new products.
Maintains a good working knowledge of the UK, EU and international food legislation.
The ability to explain complex technical and legislative issues in a comprehensive manner so that they can be readily understood by non-technical/legal audiences
Supports the development of ingredient and product specifications to ensure that the relevant legal and technical requirements are addressed during the procurement process.
Ensure nutrition, health and other marketing claims (including packaging end of life marketing claims such as recycling logos, biodegradability, certification schemes, etc) comply with appropriate regulations and advertising standards.
Carries out ingredient and finished product compliance checks to ensure suitability in intended markets of sale internationally
Maintain regulatory pesticide database and carry out horizon scanning activities relating to global pesticide and contaminant legislation in line with internal ISO procedure.
Builds collaborative cross functional working relationships and delivers a high level of customer service to key internal customers.
Coordinates responses to technical consumer queries.
Supports NPD team and marketing teams by providing guidance on legal requirements to ensure compliance in respect of raw materials, finished products, nutrition, health and other marketing claims

You will be a Regulatory Officer, ideally degree qualified / equivalent in food science or other scientific subject with technical discipline and have a proven ability in providing regulatory advice to commercial teams within a food manufacturing environment. You will have knowledge of UK, EU and international food legislation and end of life packaging claim requirements. This person will need to be intellectually capable, self-starting and highly action oriented, capable of delivering results.
Strong presentation skills to deliver regulatory training to marketing teams and as part of other internal training programmes will be essential within this role.
