A leading privately owned FMCG food manufacturer is recruiting an Interim Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager to lead the purchasing of Protein, Packaging and Raw materials for site to cover a Recruitment Process. Reporting to the MD, this Buyer / Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing and negotiating the supply of existing and new raw materials and packaging to the manufacturing site and will likely be for a 3-5 month period. 1 day per week will be site based in Manchester. This role is INSIDE IR35 and will be an all in Day Rate paid by the employer.

You will have strong experience of raw material and packaging buying – ideally within a food or drink manufacturing environment

Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager Senior Buyer responsibilities include:

Provide budget recommendations and deliver price variance forecasts to ensure the business is adequately prepared and conditioned.
Optimise savings and value delivery through sustaining high levels of innovation/NPD, driving continuing cost and value efficiencies.
Reduce risk through implementation of contractual terms.
Facilitate drive to improve quality and reliability of the supply chain and terms & conditions.
Constantly reviewing quality and cost, securing strategies to source quality, cost-effective materials in line with market and customer requirements.
Facilitate innovation and creativity within the context of supplier relationships by coordinating all activities and managing the supplier relationship.
Adopt a cross functional and customer focussed approach through regular liaison with NPD, Technical and Commercial Teams to ensure decisions are in line with customer demands, technical and food safety requirements.
