We are recruiting a DV Cleared Mechanical Fitter on behalf of our client based at Sellafield.

Rates: NAECI Rates
Pay Models Available:
  • Umbrella with expenses (subject to deductions)
  • Agency PAYE
Hours: 38 hours a week 
Overtime: Available (NAECI Rates)

Travel expenses and accomodation as per NAECI Agreement

Duration: 6 - 12 months

  • DV Cleared
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances, P4 pass is preferred
  • Completed an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in the trade
Key Responsibilites:
  • To co-operate with the management in carrying out your duties to achieve a safe and health working environment and to act responsibly with due attention to the impact of your actions on the safety of both yourself and or your fellow workers
  • Examine detailed drawings or specifications to check job, material and equipment requirements
  • Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment
  • Operate machines to produce parts by boring, planing, shaping, slotting , grinding or drilling metal stock or components
  • Performing light basic steel manufacturing activities using a variety of hand tools, various power tools, and other related equipment
  • Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies including welding or brazing parts
  • Set up and or operate hand and machine tools and welding equipment
  • Check accuracy and quality of finished parts or sub-assemblies.
  • Performing a variety of manual tasks including general maintenance and repair activities
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area

Specific Skills and Abilities:
  • Standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and walking for extended periods 
  • Expending physical energy for long periods, visually observing and differentiating details
  • Understanding spoken and written information; speaking and writing clearly and effectively; adjusting to interruptions and changes in working requirements
  • Making visual observations of workplace conditions, working in hot, cold, confined and noisy environments with a minimum of supervision and reacting with dexterity and co-ordination 
  • Working as a member of the team 
  • Will be required to undertake manual handling activities for which training shall be provided
  • Must be willing and available to work flexible hours, including rotation, weekends and holidays to suit business requirements and even during set meal times.
