Engineering Manager - Electrically Biased - SC or DV Cleared

The Engineering Manager is accountable to the Head of Engineering and is responsible for delegated Design Authority activities and will ensure that the engineered solutions/deliverables meet the intent of the design specifications, adhere to relevant standards/codes/directives and comply with QSHEW processes. They will provide technical knowledge, leadership, guidance and support to deliver projects, ensuring that all actions, activities and outputs underpin the integrity, expertise and competency of the Company.

Technical Competency

 Oversee and originate EC&I concept designs / engineering studies in order to develop effective solutions and subsequently prepare and present these proposals direct to stakeholders and colleagues
 Provide design and engineering guidance to colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and clients as appropriate, by means of formal explanation of, but not limited to, the following design development and detailed design activities: o Electrical LV design (MCC, UPS, lighting, general distribution etc.) o Electrical HV design (11KV, transformers, protection relays, RMUs etc.) o Control system design (DCS) o Fire alarm design
 Working knowledge of relevant standards/codes/directives
 Experience of working with safety functional requirements in a regulated design environment  Review, checking and approval of engineering documentation.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum SC or DV Security cleared
Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
Membership of appropriate professional institution
PhD or MSc in related field
10 years+ senior technical experience in a highly regulated industry
Demonstrable delivery across multiple concurrent Engineering work streams
Detailed knowledge of key EC&I engineering documents and their structure
