PROJECT LEAD / CONTROLS SPECIALIST (INSIDE IR35)

Our Client is an independent engineering group, they support their clients in the design, construction supervision, commissioning and operation of their industrial infrastructures.

Due to an increase in work, an opportunity has arisen for a project lead to support them in ensuring that the project and operational teams work in accordance to company processes relating to Project Management.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Provide expert guidance to teams and able to coach and develop others in Project Controls.
  • Support the Project and Operational Teams by assisting them in completing project control activities, as required.
  • Support reporting by providing expert analysis of Project Controls Data when this cannot be completed by Project and Operational Teams.
  • Identify and solve problems for Project and Operational Teams relating to Programme Management and Project Controls.
  • Being a local authority in relation to Project Controls and maintaining that status by continuing professional development.
  • Escalate the capabilities, competencies and training gaps needed by the wider project management community to support Project Controls.
  • Support of project management governance and assurance activities.
  • Promotion of the general culture and professionalism of project management in the Business.
What we are looking for in applications:
  • Is internally recognised as an expert user in the Project Controls Processes and Tools
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Specialist functional technical experience e.g. planning, risk management-using appropriate tools/systems
  • Candidate will require extensive knowledge and experience of earned value management on high value programs
  • Able to communicate and articulate specialism in an easy and understandable manner
  • Exposure to wider project management processes and understanding of how the specialism influences and is integrated to the project/programme/portfolio
  • Able to solve complex problems and has experience of a wide range of problem solving techniques
  • Can clearly demonstrate previous experience of their specialism and how it has influenced project outcome delivery

**Security clearance**

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC)
clearance without any caveats to that clearance.



Hours: 37 hours per week with flexible hours
