A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer in the South Manchester area is currently seeking a Production Planner to join their Supply Chain team on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, the Production Planner will be responsible for daily planning of the next 7day plan and short term planning to a horizon of 12 weeks.

The successful Production Planner will need to demonstrate a keen eye for detail, have an analytical approach to their work, a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement, and be a clear communicator.

Responsibilities of the Production Planner include:
Ensure efficient 7 day plans supported by materials that deliver against the service priorities.
Work collaboratively with operations, material planning, supply planning and customer services ensuring that plans are viable, executed and any plan changes are communicated
Escalate any risks in a timely manner
Create 12 week plans that deliver 99% service, identifying and flagging any service risks etc
Generate rolling 4 weeks of works orders to support MRP
Provide 12 weeks MRP data off the back of the plans to material planning
Manage / maintain planning tool with new SKU’s and master data
Generate daily/weekly performance reports
Provide data on plan attainment and SKU production rates for use in quarterly rate review
Lead weekly planning meetings
Work closely with all departments to ensure any requirements of the plan are planned in a timely fashion
Provide support to NPD and projects as required

You will ideally have 2 or more years experience as a Production Planner, preferably with experience in FMCG food manufacturing or similar, intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
