A leading FMCG Food manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Development Technologist / NPD Technologist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an expanding and incredibly fast paced Food Manufacturer who supply retail, foodservice, wholesale with branded and own label products.
The Junior Development Technologist will support the Commercial and NPD team for all activities linked to innovation and customer/supplier relations

Development Technologist / NPD Technologist responsibilities include:

Development and innovation of products for production lines
Trouble shooting and management of tasks/projects with internal and external customers
General Admin and documentation preparation for customers and production
Assisting in the development and innovation of products for production lines
Prepare recipes in line NPD and Trial plans.
Internal cooking validations
Organise and lead factory trial, including new ingredient ordering for factory trials
Source and order ingredients and sample packaging.
Pack and label samples accurately and supporting information accompanies samples when sent to customer and log the samples on tracker
Book in and send samples to customer
Keep up to date with food trends and macro trends which influence food choices.
General Admin and documentation preparation for customers and production
Prepare recipes, nutritionals, specifications
Carry out benchmarking, attribute, and taste panels.
Make sure samples are ready in a timely manor to be sent for shelf life, nutritional testing, and cooking validation
Maintain excellent organisation of kitchen and storage areas.
General Quality Tasks
Contribute to HACCP and hygiene, GMP for the site and NPD.
Manage shelf-life and ingredients / finished product risks. Make recommendations
Start to make proactive product ideas and product improvements.

You will ideally be degree qualified / equivalent in a Food Science discipline and have experience working within an NPD department in the food industry. You will be IT literate in Excel, Word, Power-point and be able to work cross functionally with a positive can-do attitude
You will have excellent attention to detail with good organisational skills and have a keen interest in food
