A leading FMCG Manufacturer based in the Cheshire area is currently seeking a factory based QA Supervisor to be responsible for the management of all aspects of compliance (HACCP, Food Safety, QMS, Audits, complaints, non-conformances etc).

Reporting to the Quality and Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for upholding the companies’ exceptional standards. You’ll be accountable for coordinating all QA work in the Factory and have 2 direct reports, therefore strong leadership skills and are essential for this role along with the ability to drive a continuous improvement environment. This role requires communication with both internal and external stakeholders and will require excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities of the Quality and Technical Officer include:
Manage 2 direct reports ensuring job roles are being carried out in a timely manner.
Manage, plan, complete and maintain the GMP audit system and schedule.
Carry out regular reviews of site procedures and policies ensuring procedures and documentation are in line with BRCGS requirements
Carry out training of Quality and Technical procedures
Responsible for the daily operational aspect of the QMS system and supporting the operational teams in ensuring it is used to its full potential.
Ensure corrective / preventive action or improvement with QMS.
Ensure all quality issues are dealt with promptly.
Operate safely and encourage a Health and Safety culture.
Operate within good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards and follow all GMP and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
Support and abide by the company’s quality and food safety management system (BRC).
Ensure the site is audit ready at all times and assist with external, 3rd party, customer and BRC audits.
Maintain a constant quality and technical presence on the factory floor providing technical support across the teams.
Implementation of the Quality Management System through monitoring and factory presence, undertaking quality checks, monitoring, reporting, investigating and closing non-conformities.
Ensure the sites traceability system are maintained, challenging existing processes to identify any areas for improvement.
Ensure the sites documentation and record completion complies to BRC standard.
Ensure that products comply with BRCGS, legislation and customer standards.
Work collaboratively with quality, operations, warehouse and production teams to drive improvement and compliance.
Challenging noncompliance preventing reoccurance
Management of the sites Housekeeping & Hygiene procedures.
Management of the external cleaning contract ensuring the contract is maintained and in compliance with BRCGS.
Cost & Budget setting and control.
Key member of the HACCP team and attend all HACCP meetings.
Implementing KPI’s to illustrate conformance etc.
Engage in CI projects suggesting ways to improve processes and procedures.

You will possess HACCP Level 3, Level 3 Award Supervising Food Safety and have knowledge of food labelling legislation / food legislation / regulations with an understanding of H&S and manual handling.

You’ll have previous food industry experience with thorough knowledge of quality management systems and supplier approval systems experience. You’ll have a keen eye for detail with a quality and customer focus along with problem solving and analytical skills. You’ll possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop strong working relationships, presentation and organisational skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and ERP systems
