Reporting to an Operations Lead, the Engineering Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring equipment and facilities maintenance is completed to a high standard ensuring machine availability is maximised, all compliance standards are met and to lead and develop the maintenance engineering team on site.
The successful Engineering Maintenance Manager will ideally have previous food manufacturing experience with a proven track record of successfully managing and developing engineering teams in a management or senior supervisory role.
Engineering Maintenance Manager responsibilities include:
Ensuring all engineering and maintenance activities on site meet and exceed the appropriate health and safety standards and demonstrate leadership in health & safety
Management and delivery of the weekly maintenance works schedule and any urgent work that arises, ensuring the plant operation is fully supported and output is not impacted
Develop a plan and time line to eliminate emergency repair work and maximise planned and project work ensuring an effective preventative maintenance plan is designed and delivered as scheduled.
Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity.
Responsible for maintenance team performance and development including regular coaching and mentoring to develop effective training and development plans
Manage and Control engineering inventory, ensuring adequate stock of critical spares and control of non-essential items.
Increase site operational effectiveness, working in close collaboration with the Production and Technical teams to reduce downtime, improving OEE and maintain GMP standards.
