Our Client is a UK based Technology and engineering company, they provide smart infrastructure solutions to the energy, transportation and water sectors.

Due to an increase in workload an opportunity has arisen for a Temporary works coordinator to join them on a contract basis in Warrington.

About the role:

As the Temporary Works Coordinator for the MSP Core Service Hub, you will report into the  Hub operations lead. You will require an excellent working knowledge and demonstrable experience of the management of temporary works in accordance with BS 5975. You will be responsible for the management of multiple items of temporary works, predominantly scaffolding and crane outrigger foundations, ensuring compliance in accordance with the MSP Temporary works and lifting procedures and the assurance of our supply chain in their delivery and management of temporary works.
This role is essential to the successful delivery and assurance of technical and safety, health, and environmental (SHE) procedures across the MSP’s core workstream.

You will be part of a small team, integrated within the MSP Core Services Hubteam, providing technical and SHE support to MSP Core Services projects as required. This team is key to ensuring Costain delivers all works safely through our supply chain and in accordance with procedures and legal obligations. The core workstream includes planned and reactive maintenance projects and is a fast-paced delivery environment with significant customer interface. This role is vital to ensure efficient planning and delivery of the customer’s requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities: 

Lead the management of temporary works from conception through to dismantle for all MSP Core Services projects in accordance with BS 5975 and MSP procedures.
Appointment of Temporary Works Designers and Design Checkers, as appropriate.
Categorisation of all temporary works, ensuring adequate design and design checks are completed, supervision and assurance of installation of temporary works, ensuring required temporary works permits are issued by competent individuals.
Auditing and assurance of the supply chain to ensure sufficient management of temporary works on site and all required documentation is completed.
Ensuring all scaffold installations are suitably covered by appropriate temporary works assessments and permits. Ensuring all lifting operations are suitably covered by appropriate temporary works assessments and permits.
Maintaining the MSP Core Services projects Temporary Works Register. Liaising with the United Utilities site lead to ensure temporary works are adequately planned accounting for all environmental factors.
Liaising with the supply chain to ensure all temporary works are adequately planned and the required supervision is in place. Liaising with teams on the MSP framework to advise and contribute to temporary works solutions. Procurement and maintenance of temporary works equipment as required. Keep abreast of best practice developments in the temporary works professional and/or industrial field and communication of these through the delivery team and supply chain. Set the highest example for health and safety requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·CITB Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
·CSCS health and safety card appropriate to job role. Experience managing and coordinating temporary works – scaffolding and lifting operations. Microsoft Office literate. Working knowledge and experience of BS 5975.
·Ability to visit multiple operational sites across United Utilities region.
·CPCS Appointed Person: Lifting Operations A61. (Note : We will accept applications from those who require upskilling in relation to undertaking the required lifting appointed person qualification, but the candidate must currently possess the required engineering and practical experience to undertake a lifting appointed person role).

Temporary works design experience including outrigger mat sizing and foundation design. Comfortable in use of AutoCAD (2D).
