CONTRACTS ENGINEER / MANAGER - Highways (Inside IR35)

Our Client is a Privately owned civil, structural, rail and transportation consultancy.  They have successfully won several framework agreements and contracts throughout the UK.  

Due to an increase in work an opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Engineer /Manager to support them with a scheme in Stockport.

The role will involve Planning, delivering and financially monitoring projects within the Highways portfolio using such programmes as Causeway or equivalent. Delivery of projects producing programmes of work based on NEC 4 and equivalent

  • Monitoring of operational timescales and resources with supervision and technical support
  • Quantifying; cost analysis and clarity when accounting for expenditure using programmes such as Causeway or equivalent.
  • Record keeping and reporting to support the financial and contractual obligations of each individual projects
  • Attending meetings and producing information for pre-site/ interim and final accounts/ whole programme delivery and individual scheme delivery/work in progress/progress meetings with individual clients/advising and proposing
Responsibilities:
  • Required to produce detailed Health and Safety plans and be fully conversant with all current legislation regarding CDM.
  • Actively monitor and manage directly sub-contractors and suppliers of goods and services to ensure that best value and service quality
  • Producing detailed programmes equivalent to NEC4 Clause 31/32 for delivering projects in a cost effective and profitable manner
  • Produce accurate measurements, quantities and scheme delivery strategies whilst monitoring costs and expenditure against income.
  • Capturing and accurately record all variations to scope of the works information package as works progress
  • Provide detailed financial analysis information for each project as and when required.
  • Direct and supervise front-line personnel
You will have experience in the following:

  • Civil engineering minor works construction projects
  • Local highway authority asset maintenance programs
  • Financial and timescale monitoring of civil engineering projects
  • Producing detailed programmes equivalent to NEC4 Clause 31/32
  • Produce accurate measurements, quantities and scheme delivery strategies whilst monitoring costs and expenditure against income.
  • NEC4 contract experience
  • Quantifying; cost analysis and clarity when accounting for expenditure
  • Production of information for pre-site/ interim and final accounts/ whole programme delivery and individual scheme delivery/works in progress
  • Record keeping and reporting to support the financial and contractual obligations of each individual projects
  • Proposing construction methods and techniques.
  • Production of detailed Health and Safety plans
  • CDM regulations
  • Monitor and manage directly sub-contractors and suppliers of goods and services
  • Civil engineering project delivery
  • Setting out of works using total stations/ coordinates and EDM equipment (preferred)
