The successful Quality Improvement Technologist will ideally have a Food Science / Technology related qualification with HACCP Level 3 and Auditing experience. This role would be ideal for someone in a Technical, Quality or NPD role that is interested in making a move into Quality Improvements and getting involved in some really exciting projects!
You will be an organised, flexible individual able to prioritise with excellent attention to detail. You’ll possess strong communication skills and have experience of working in a fast paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities of the Quality Improvement Technologist include:
Identify opportunities for improvements within food quality and safety and draw up an appropriate improvement plan
Lead new machinery release process and follow up on technical actions
Support site cross-functional project work
Ensure technical aspects of project work are all covered off, follow up with relevant actions with documentation completed
Lead and support quality and food safety projects including project planning, implementation and review
Maintain progress tracker and communicate regular updates on all project work
Complete process audits and follow up with agreed corrective actions
Perform trials when necessary and follow up with next stage recommendations and plan
Liaise cross-functionally to ensure all projects and work progresses smoothly
Liaise with external stakeholders as and when required (i.e. equipment suppliers etc)
Support and lead investigations on internal rejections and any food safety / quality incidents complaints ensuring root case analysis and follow up plans
Assist with complaints and near miss investigations and all improvement plans making sure root case is completed and corrective actions in place
Support with the implementation, embedding and maintenance of a QA approach within the Operations teams.
Support with the completion of internal audits
Provide coaching and training to staff to ensure compliance with all relevant QA and Technical standards
Support with validation work as required
Ensure you support with maintaining the highest BRC Grade accreditation
Support with the development of documentation in line with QMS standards
Support Technical Team with workload when required and assist with technical cover and step up to cover the Technical / QA Manager in their absence.
You will have a 'can do' attitude, be an analytical thinker - able to understand data and a problem solver with good presentation skills.
