A leading FMCG Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join their team. Reporting to the MD, this is a stand-alone role with broad autonomy across a wide range of site responsibility including protein and packaging. This role would be suitable for a Senior Buyer used to working within a small team having responsibility for a broad range of materials i.e. protein and packaging.
This role will require former experience in a food manufacturing environment and ideally a CIPS qualification and exceptional negotiation skills.

Purchasing Manager responsibilities;

Effectively create and execute short, medium and long term procurement strategies to maximise purchasing power
Provide budget recommendations, and ensure the business is adequately prepared an
Optimise savings and value delivery through sustaining high levels of innovation/NPD, driving continuing cost value effectiveness
Adopt a cross-functional and customer focussed approach through regularly liaising with New
Product Development, Technical and Sales Teams to ensure decisions are in line with customer demands and food safety requirements
Directly and indirectly responsible for sourcing negotiation and placing of contracts for raw materials and/or packaging materials
Providing the business with up to date market and product information to enable informed
business decisions to be formulated
Supplier Performance Management (SMP): develop and maintain excellent relationships with key suppliers to improve performance and drive value
Liaising with the Planning Department to reduce stock write offs to agreed minimum

You will be a Purchasing Manager, ideally degree qualified equivalent and be CIPS qualified or working towards this. You will be an exceptional negotiator and have an understanding of e-sourcing concepts.
