Leading FMCG Manufacturer

A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer based in the South West are seeking a Qualified Occupational Health Nurse to join their team. Initially on a 6 month FTC basis but position has potential to be extended or become a permanent position.

Occupational Health Advisor responsibilities:

Implementation, Management and Development of occupational health programmes through the establishment of policies and procedures.
Carry out new starter health assessments to comply with statutory legislation and Corporate Occupational Health requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of employee health information and occupational health notes as per statutory and Corporate requirements.
Assess, manage and undertake all required health surveillance and health assessments to comply with statutory legislation and Corporate Occupational Health requirements.
Carry out required DSE, maternity or ergonomic risk assessments.
Maintain medical records as required by UK law and Corporate Occupational Health requirements.
Develop, conduct & manage health promotion activities across the UK sites.
Support Line Managers & HR with case management of sickness absence, including long term sickness and work related injuries/illnesses.
Generate written reports to management.
Establish & promote working relationships with appropriate community agencies and Occupational Health consultants.
Provide support to employees and where appropriate, refer to professional health professionals
Refer to occupational health physician when necessary.
Write to or liaise with GP’s, physiotherapists, or specialists as required.
Support H&S and line managers to assess level of risk and determine first aid requirements.
Work with the EHS team to identify causes of work related injury or illness and keep up to date with external & internal Occupational Health requirements, and individual CPD, in order to recommend and implement (as appropriate) best practices within the organization.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and appropriate qualifications to practice in the UK.
Occupational Health Nursing Qualification – Minimum diploma level Experience Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience together with a minimum of 2 years Occupational Health Nursing experience.
Previous experience of working as an Occupational Health Worker within a FMCG Manufacturing Environment is highly desirable.
