My client is a global chemical manufacturing business that has gone from strength to strength in the last 5 years. Following continued investment there is now a requirement for an Organic Chemist to join their team on a permanent basis at their site in Oxford.
The role will report into the Head of Chemistry and will be responsible for multi-step synthesis projects of primarily small-scale compounds (g - Kg). The successful candidate will design and synthesise cost-effective, next generation materials. There are also opportunities to influence multiple business interfaces to help deliver the new chemical components the business needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Excellent theoretical organic chemistry knowledge with a mindset for industrial solutions
- Excellent practical organic expertise at a range of scales, particularly 100 g – 1 kg with a strong track record of delivering materials to tight timescales
- Awareness of cost-effective chemical design (e.g. process considerations/raw material considerations/regulatory impacts) is an advantage
- Experience of sustainable and/or green chemistry in an industrial setting desirable
