Assistant Account responsibilities include:
Responsible for the development of the financial reporting systems as required by the group
Preparation of allocated group company management accounts to trial balance, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flows.
Preparation of forecast and budget reporting and monitoring.
Reconciliation of various GL nominal controls, identifying and resolving accounting issues arising within the general ledger.
Produce period end journals including, where appropriate, accruals, prepayments and provisions as and where required.
Reconciliation of inter-company trading balances for group companies.
Reporting and monitoring of retrospective rebates, including accruals.
Reporting sales ledger debt, monitoring and debt recovery, in conjunction with the Operational teams, ensuring the company collects all debt. Credit control monitoring and reporting, liaising with external debt collection agency as require.
Accurately recording debt collection actions and commitments ensuring they are followed up and reported as appropriate
Preparation of weekly purchase ledger supplier payment runs, ensuring all invoices are appropriately authorised and entered correctly on the system before releasing for payment.
Management of supplier contracts and preferred suppliers list, including credit insurance reporting and renewal.
Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
Monitoring of budget spend versus actual against business plan.
Processing of expenses and company credit card transactions.
VAT control reconciliation, including HMRC submissions.
Annual audit and compliance support.
Assist with the development of processes that ensure data integrity and security and that are in line with all data protection obligations.
Generate monthly and weekly internal financial reports and other financial administration as required, including KPI reports and Head Office reporting requests.
Management accounts reporting development and project work were required
You ill be an assistant Accountant with your AAT qualification, ideally with experience within financial services. You will have excellent financial acumen, communication and interpersonal skills as well as being IT literate (Microsoft and internal database systems) and proven experience in the delivery of projects.
