This forward thinking global company is looking to seek a global business development executive to join their ever expanding team. 

The VP Business Development is responsible for accelerating the revenue growth in multiple market sectors, to deliver revenue and profit targets in line with the budget and strategic plan.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 
  • Drive sales activity to meet budget and strategic plan revenue and profit targets
  • Manage a Business Development team to deliver the above, developing the capability of the team to ensure the company sustains its leading market position
  • In conjunction with the SVP Sales, generate a Business Development strategy, with particular focus on exploitation of new markets to expand the business
  • Perform analysis of business target markets, proactively develop target market segments and customers
  • Create and manage customer account plans and sales strategies. Manage the pipeline of new sales opportunities
  • Perform competitor analysis. Identify and attack competitor markets
  • Develop and maintain first class customer relationships, to understand and be responsive to customer needs, and understand key stakeholder decision making process
  • In conjunction with Operations, improve customer service to position the company as the leading service provider to its customers
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts to support the quarterly forecast process of the business plan
  • Ensure customers operate in accordance with agreed contractual terms, negotiate such terms where they do not currently exist
  • KPIs: Sales growth, profit, customer service, pipeline size and close-won ratio 


QUALIFICATIONS
Educational and Professional: 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in an Engineering/Science discipline, and ideally hold a post graduate business qualification 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in business development or marketing roles in general industry, preferably within the steel/forging industry, with proven success 
  • Strong experience in special metals, castings and forgings 
  • Value pricing and contract negotiation experience 
  • Excellent strategic and business planning skills Excellent presentation/communication skills 
  • Excellent understanding of internal/external customer/supplier relationships 
  • People management experience
