Based Northwest – Between Anglesey and Liverpool
£33-37k - Pension, Holiday, Travel Expenses between sites

The Opportunity

Our client is an expanding multinational manufacturing business based across multiple sites in Merseyside, North Wales and Holland. The business has been in existence for over 50 years and specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of their own patented transport and logistics solutions working with some of the biggest brands in the sector on projects all over the UK and overseas.  Our client is now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer from a mechanical background to join the businesses design team assisting on new and existing product design and working on individual projects.

This role will be based on their site in Anglesey for 6 months, (expenses in terms of travel or accommodation to be paid by the client) followed by being based permanently in Liverpool at their site in Speke after the integration period into the business. In Anglesey our client do a lot of their initial manufacturing processes, before moving things to Liverpool for Assembly and Electrical/Electronic systems. This suits someone who is keen to join a company that’s doubled in size in terms of personnel and turnover in the past 2 years.

The ideal candidate will come from a design background with mechanical bias working on the design of industrial machinery, whether this be manufacturing equipment, materials handling, aerospace or automotive and be used to working on the Solidworks CAD package. Industry wise our client operates within the logistics and transport sector designing and manufacturing their own loading system technology so this role will be predominantly full equipment design as opposed to component level.

The company are flexible on location in terms of where you can be based, however you must be comfortable being based in Anglesey for up to 6 months, either travelling daily or staying over. The role will after this period be based out of Speke permanently.

The Role

You’ll be working within a mechanically biased heavy assembly driven manufacturing business here, they are in the process of fully implementing CI and 6 sigma working methodology and have an exciting range of products in the pipeline but are keen for more. Their design team currently is managed by a design manager who has been in the business for a number of years and work on existing products, adaptations of existing products and brand new solutions for new and existing clients all over the UK and Europe.

The company have multiple projects going on at one time with multiple clients so communication with different departments and organization is key, so experience of this will be expected. You'll also get the chance to take real ownership of this role and progress within an expanding company, which not many roles can offer.
