Our client is a provider of Highways design and consultancy services, supporting both minor & major infrastructure maintenance schemes throughout the UK. To support the delivery of their growing portfolio of schemes they are looking for an experienced Traffic Modeller to join their traffic and transportation business.
The Job The role will primarily involve the development of microsimulation traffic models, supported by the existing traffic modelling team. You will provide technical expertise and mentoring to junior team members.
Our client specialises in undertaking transport planning studies and developing traffic and transportation schemes for Highways England amongst.
They have developed a strong reputation for producing high quality traffic modelling solutions and have a good track record in developing innovative methodologies and solutions.
A good skill level and experience of using microsimulation software along with a good level of professional work experience;
A relevant degree (or similar) in engineering, or a post graduate qualification in transport planning or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability;
A working knowledge of industry modelling guidance and an understanding of calibration and validation techniques;
A high standard of numeracy; good written and spoken English; proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular.
Experience with other software packages, ie: JCT LinSig TRL TRANSYT PARAMICS PTV VISUM SATURN AIMSUN.
