A leading FMCG Manufacturer based in Merseyside is currently seeking a Planning Assistant to join their exciting, forward-thinking company on a permanent basis.

The Assistant Planner will be responsible for the daily manufacturing plans, working closely with the Planning Supervisor and Production, Customer Services and Purchasing departments to ensure demand is met.

Responsibilities of the Planning Assistant include:
Produce and manage production schedules using the in-house ERP system ensuring customer demand is met.
Ensure all raw materials are delivered within timescales needed to meet production demand.
Regularly communicate with Operations including Factory Manager, Sales and Purchasing to ensure the execution of production schedules.
Problem solve any issues including staff shortages, raw material constraints and machinery malfunctions and update schedules as required.
Arrange production trials for NPD and maintenance downtime.
Collate and assess production data and overall performance (OTIF).
Create reports for senior management and propose improvements regarding efficiency, processes, procedures and quality.
Provide cover for the Senior Production Scheduler as and when required.
Carry out any further duties required to ensure workload coverage.

You will have experience in FMCG manufacturing (preferably within the food or drink sector) with knowledge of ERP / MRP systems and a passion for supply chain and manufacturing operations.

You be a driven, motivated, assertive and analytical individual with strong organisation and problem-solving skills. You will possess a high level of attention to detail, be able to work on own initiative and have excellent time management skills.
