A global FMCG Food & Drink Manufacturer is currently seeking a Group Technical Manager to join their team. Reporting into the MD you will lead a small team within a privately owned, entrepreneurial business providing support for the UK and overseas sites. The role is focused on working with Supplier and Customer Technical & Quality Account Management to ensure first Class technical standards are achieved through the complete supply chain from field to finished product.
This role has the opportunity for someone to develop within a forward thinking business across a broad product range and be part of succession planning for future Senior Leadership.

Group Technical Manager Responsibilities include:

Deliver a consistent approach to food safety and technical standards across all sites, including HACCP, QMS and allergen management
Manage the supplier approval process and technical team
Interact with customers and enforcement authorities at all levels.
Ensure the factories maintain the standards required by all customers against relevant codes of practice & guidelines.
Assure customers of “Best” world class technical integrity across site
“Foster” a culture of continuous improvement for KPI delivery.
Ensure time scales for technical projects are met.
Ensure all Brand and customer, standards are met by a systematic approach to auditing and verification
Ensure quality systems are in-place to meet all specifications and legal requirements.
Manage external analysis programme via agreed accredited partners
Maintain internal quality systems to ISO/EFSIS/BRC/TFMS standard
Review technical budgets as required.
Management of food legislation - UK, EU, USA
Management of suppliers worldwide
Management of audits to external food safety and quality standards for customers and suppliers
Management and implementation of active customers’ technical requirements.
Management of product specifications and other technical documentation
Point of technical reference for Group's affiliate operations
Point of technical reference for Group's overseas offices

You will be a commercially aware, senior Technical manager ideally with multi site responsibility. Knowledge of EU and USA legislation and standards will be deemed advantageous. You will be Lead Auditor trained with a Strong understanding of legal standards and with proven leadership skills and consultative approach.
Strong technical training and consultative approach. A knowledge of food chemistry and microbiology will be deemed advantageous.
