Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £39k

Our client has an opportunity for a number of Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers who may have a bias towards Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical disciplines to join a highly experienced, single site entity who have been in operation for over 200 years that are capable of producing the largest and most technically challenging cast and forged steel components in the world. Our client has several positions which are available in their Forge, Foundry, Machine Shops, Melt Shop and Work Rolls departments


The client are a highly experienced, single site entity who have been in operation for over 200 years that are capable of producing the largest and most technically challenging cast and forged steel components in the world. The company create large, bespoke, high integrity components for several applications including the power generation and offshore oil and gas industries in a heavy engineering environment. The client has on offer a variety of packages available dependant on your current skills and a number of shift options including:
  • Days/Nights
  • Mornings/Afternoons/Nights
  • 12hr Continental Shift Pattern

Applicants MUST meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a full Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship qualification (multi-skilled or cross-skilled specific preferable)
  • Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical diagnostic and development capability
  • Significant experience in a similar environment preferably with working knowledge of machine tool processes, fault diagnostics, analysis and countermeasure implementation including multi skilled working practices and capabilities
  • Electronic and CNC controls diagnostics capability and experience (Siemens, Fanuc, etc.)
  • Experience of working in similar heavy manufacturing or 'hot working environment' with similar role responsibilities
  • Experience of working on overhead cranes
  • In depth knowledge of  Health and Safety in the workplace and improvements made in support of H&S
  • Proof of ability to plan effectively for both projects / maintenance
  • Proof of staying calm under pressure
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Able to work at height

Additional DESIREABLE criteria:
  • Relevant HNC/HND Qualification
  • Multiskilled Maintenance qualification
  • Continuous Improvement qualification
  • Experience of PLC fault-finding
  • Experience of DC Motor control
