Based Northwest – Between Anglesey and Liverpool
£50-65k - Pension, Holiday, Travel Expenses between sites
Our client is an expanding multinational design, engineering and manufacturing business based across multiple sites in the northwest and north Wales and Holland. The business has been in existence for over 50 years and specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of their own patented transport and logistics solutions working with some of the biggest brands in the sector on projects all over the UK and overseas. Our client is now looking for a Technical Manager ideally from a Mechanical background to lead the companies technical engineering function. This role will be spread across the companies sites, but predominantly will be spent between Anglesey and Liverpool.
This role is currently being covered by the companies Operations Director therefore there is a support network in place for a handover. The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing background with a strong mechanical bias, you’ll be managing a team of technical engineers in design, project and hands on engineering. The roles remit will be to set goals, objectives, and splitting your time between existing products, variations of existing products and brand new product delivery allowing the company to achieve its given targets.
Industry wise our client operate within the logistics and transport sector designing and manufacturing their own loading system technology, so a mechanical assembly focussed background would lend itself well to the business.
The company are flexible on location, and you could be based in both Liverpool or Anglesey, but need to have flexibility to travel between the two, as well as to their site in Holland once every 3 or 4 weeks, so the relevant candidate will have to be flexible in terms of travel between sites, all expenses of which will be covered by our client.
You'll come with experience leading technical engineering teams, and have experience working across all parts of a manufacturing business, including meeting clients, design, quality, logistics, assembly and manufacturing. If you’re used to setting goals and objectives, managing people, motivating and helping a company achieve ambitious targets then this role might well be something worth considering.
You’ll be working within a mechanically biased heavy assembly driven manufacturing business here, they are in the process of fully implementing CI and 6 sigma working methodology and looking to double their turnover and continue their aggressive growth which has seen the business double in size in the past 2 years. The company have multiple projects going on at one time with multiple clients so communication with different departments and organization is key, so experience of this will be expected. Mechanical Engineering Qualification (HND or Degree Preferred)
Experience managing and leading technical teams
Assembly or Manufacturing Background
Be prepared to travel between sites in the North West Anglesey, Liverpool, Holland (flexibility on where you will be based between Liverpool/Anglesey)
