A fantastic opportunity to join an expanding, forward thinking organisation and largest Production/Print facility in Europe, based in Liverpool. Our client, who are part of a German owned group have several facilities within Europe and turnover in excess of £1bn. Our client is currently looking to add a Production Planner to their Planning Team.

Overall Purpose Of The Role

To assist and support the Production Planning Manager with the scheduling of all operations while ensuring optimal efficiency, equipment utilization and customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a work style that ensures improved productivity and recognises continuous self development and achievement.
  • Deliver productivity, quality, waste and cost control standards and targets at all times.
  • Liaise closely with the Commercial team, providing them with a prompt response to any order enquiries and supplying necessary time plans etc. to allow them to give the customer a proposal. In addition, maintaining regular communication with them from receipt of an order to despatch.
  • Determine manufacturing routes for all orders in such a way to optimise throughput and efficiency, whilst minimising waste and ensuring customer expectations for delivery are met on time and in full.
  • Load orders along with production routings onto the relevant planning system and maintaining this system in line with order amendments and any other influences.
  • Supply Operations with the necessary production plans. In addition, ensuring that the plan is communicated and understood by all relevant parties within the business and that any deviation from plan is highlighted and the necessary remedial action is taken. 
  • Ensure full compliance with required statutory and company standards of Housekeeping, Health & Safety, Environmental and Fire Prevention.
  • Ensure all relevant IT and quality systems are operated and that data is verified, communicated and displayed as required.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned from time to time by own manager or a Director of the Company.
  • Communicate effectively with all production and business groups.

  • Constant focus on improving workflows / information flows that effect the role and the business
  • Develops  flexible plans to ensure and increase business flexibility
Education and Background
  • Degree holder ideally in a business /engineering/maths or Manufacturing Systems related area.
  • Proficient in the use of IT is essential
  • 2 – 3 years minimum experience in planning related function
  • Preferably Print /Finishing/FMCG Background
  • Has experience of working with lean manufacturing tools and techniques
