An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Automation Engineer with project experience to join a company with over 100 years’ industry experience with a team of over 150 employees and a turnover exceeding £20million. If you’re interested in working on a full project lifecycle from specification, design, through to manufacturing, install, commissioning and maintenance then this role could be for you.
The Automation Engineer will be joining the projects team responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of Automation projects for various clients across manufacturing and several UK airports baggage handling technology. If you come from a background where you are used to the programming Siemens S7, Allen Bradley or Rockwell PLC systems and would have a desire to move into more of a project based environment then this positon could be ideally suited.
Our client expect the candidate will have taken ownership of small/medium sized projects, whether this be optimisation projects, install or the creation of whole new PLC programs.
Are you bored of working on the same site daily, completing maintenance and fault finding and feel your skillset can offer more , this role will involve some travel to client sites as well as face to face interactions, it will bring variety and provide a real sense of ownership in your role day to day, and there are no shifts. Reporting to the Controls Integration Manager, you will form part of a dynamic and innovative team who, along with the wider mechanically-biased business, are developing turnkey solutions and helping to re-define the technologies deployed within a variety of sectors.
We’re happy to consider people from multiple relevant sectors, automated warehousing, manufacturing, baggage handling and the wider engineering sector, essentially any industry which involves automation and moved a product from A to B.
Essential skills required:
- HNC/HND Qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
- PLC and HMI Programming using a recognised manufacturer such as Siemens/Rockwell/Allen Bradley
- SCADA experience would be beneficial
- Knowledge and Understanding of electrical installations and the commissioning process.
- Knowledge of functional safety.
- Proactive and enthusiastic personality.
- Ability to manage own projects.
- Excellent attention to detail.
