A fantastic opportunity to join a growing engineering business that design and manufacture their very own product range for a variety of end clients. An opening has appeared within the Production Team for a Manufacturing Engineer due to the continued growth of the organisation within their sector. Should you have a background as a Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer and understand how to take a concept from design through to manufacture this role might well be ideal for you. Should you have a mechanical background preferably with a fabrication or machining bias then this role might be worth considering further. Our client are willing to consider candidates from any related sector, such as general manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear or Defence.
Our client work predominantly within the Nuclear Sector, designing and manufacturing a broad range of equipment utilised on sites around the world. Within the position you’ll be the bridge between engineering design, business development, project, purchasing, production and quality control departments. Your remit will be to ensure a product goes from client specification to a manufactured product, if you enjoy being a problem solver then this might suit you really well.
You’ll be working especially closely with the fabrication and machining teams across a variety of mechanical disciplines such as, fabrication and welding (MMA, TIG, MIG/MAG),
materials (stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium, material processing techniques, surface treatment, straightening & manipulation but also medium and heavy machining.
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
- Generate Master Control Schedule/BOM for material procurement and manufacture control Identify optimum manufacturing methodology
- Extraction of all relevant information from client documentation, specifications, quality plans and ITP’s
- Produce detailed manufacturing route cards
- Identify in‐house/sub contract activities
- Generate specifications for sub contract
- Generate supplementary manufacturing sketches
- Problem solving
- Oversee production/manufacturing activities and shop support
- Sub‐contractor support/Technical liaison
- Technical liaison
- Value engineering
- Estimating support
- Manufacturability support to engineering design
Mechanically time served, preferably to HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Fabrication & Machining industry background
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specs
Knowledge of AutoCAD or related packages (non essential)
Basic estimation experience
Ability to obtain SC Clearance
