You'll be one of a team of 7 engineers and 2 apprentices on site, looking after a range of different lines on site, working as the first point of call for maintenance. The aim is to shift the site towards a more proactive maintenance attitude, as currently it’s quite reactive which can cause issues when hitting production targets.
The site is currently in the process of receiving a large amount of capital investment with new equipment and processes being implemented. This role is a shift based role, and means you work for a total of 40hours per week plus overtime optionally on top of this, this is something that while not being guaranteed is frequently available and can be a valuable top up to your salary.
If you have good hands on experience, who can hit the ground running and who wants to come in and make a difference. You'll report into the Engineering Manager who will offer plenty of support and will be there as an escalation point if required. Technically you'll want to test yourself and learn new things, you'll be strong mechanically and have some good electrical understanding. Mechanically you’ll be looking at bearings, chains, pulleys, rollers, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics , Electrically you’ll assist on repairs, fault finding and maintenance both planned and reactive on sensors, e-stops, understanding and interpreting schematics and motors
