Based Northwest – Between Anglesey, Birkenhead and Liverpool

The Opportunity 

Our client is an expanding multinational design, engineering and manufacturing business based across multiple sites in the northwest and north Wales. The business has been in existence for over 50 years and specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of their own patented transport and logistics solutions working with some of the biggest brands in the sector on projects all over the UK and overseas  Our client are now looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to roll out their CI function across their business, which is spread over 3 sites in the northwest/north Wales (Liverpool, Birkenhead, Anglesey)

The company currently aren’t active in utilising the continuous improvement ideology but recognise the benefits and deem it necessary with the businesses continued expansion to now utilise this culture and make the necessary investments. We are looking for someone with a background in rolling out or maintaining CI within a manufacturing or assembly focused environment, ideally you’ll be at Six Sigma Green Belt Level and have a mechanically engineering background and be capable of leading the business on their lean/CI journey. Industry wise our client operate within the logistics and transport sector designing and manufacturing their own loading system technology, so a mechanical assembly focused background would lend itself well to the business.

The company are flexible on location, with head office being based in Anglesey but having other sites in Liverpool and Birkenhead, so the relevant candidate will have to be flexible in terms of travel between sites and the client are happy for you to work flexibly between them also depending on project requirements, all expenses of which will be covered by our client.  


The Role 

You'll come with experience leading process improvements from a hands on basis, and have a good understanding of lean manufacturing within an assembly focused background. If you enjoy improving processes, making them more efficient or saving budget, or improving quality this would be an ideal role for you. You'll have multiple projects going on at one time, so communication with different department and organization is key. You'll also get the chance to take real ownership of this role and progress within an expanding company, which not many roles can offer. 

You may come with a Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent ideally, and it’s essential you have strong experience on measurable process improvements, which have saved, time, money or increased productivity or efficiency. 

Qualifications 

Mechanical Engineering Qualification
Six Sigma Green Belt or Equivalent 
Experience implementing continuous improvement methodologies
Assembly or Manufacturing Background 
Be prepared to travel between sites in the North West Anglesey, Liverpool, Birkenhead (flexibility on where you will be based)
