A global Pharmaceutical Manufacturer is currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Manager/Supervisor to manage the provision of engineering support utilising a combination of technical knowledge, management, collaboration and improvement techniques. Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Engineering Team Manager will be responsible for a knowledgeable team of Engineers, whose key focus is to minimise downtime through preventative maintenance, improve equipment reliability through identifying reoccurring faults and delivering corrective actions, completing PPM’s and ensuring a safe working environment.
The Engineering Team Manager/Supervisor will be managing the budget and monitoring cost, identify and deliver continuous improvement projects focusing on improved efficiencies and reduced costs along with ensuing the engineering team develop and grow under your leadership whilst maintaining a hands on proactive approach.
Engineering Manager responsibilities include:
Ensure the team operates in a safe environment.
Excellent leadership skills and experienced, delivering through coaching, mentoring and developing people to achieve success.
Ownership of effective appraisals and implement follow up plans ensuring the document
remains “live” during the year and adds value.
Lead and develop the engineering team, driving a culture of strong performance management and maintaining clear development and robust succession planning practices to ensure that employees realise their own potential and achieve their business objectives.
Contribute to the development of the operational vision and strategic plan supporting the development of a strategy for energy reduction and equipment utilisation
Work in partnership with the operation core teams, to improve key business results and to develop engineering skills and knowledge within manufacturing promoting a professional manufacturing team culture
Plan and control the engineering budgets to deliver the most cost effective results.
Identify and action opportunities for improvements within the engineering team to promote a continuous improvement culture within the engineering and operational team
Work with site engineering services to meet site requirements and drive improvements to all energy ratios
Coordinating activities of all OEM contractors including diagnostic visits, technical assistance and analysis of reports from OEM.
Maintaining documentation and review maintenance processes within a Fast-Moving Manufacturing Environment,
Strive to improve the PPM schedules and the reliability of the machinery using TPM best practices
You will be an Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Team Manager who leads by example, takes pride in their approach to work, has a clear, consistent focus on improving ways of working and supports a culture of continuous improvement. You will be used to operating in an FMCG or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment.
