A leading food manufacturer is currently seeking an Engineering Team Leader to join their team.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering the successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the Engineering team into a cohesive and proactive unit, and ideally be an individual who can drive change with strong managerial and communication skills, man management ability within this role is a necessity.
The preferred candidate needs to have previous extensive experience within a canning environment and an expert in this field to develop and mentor others.
Engineering Team Leader responsibilities:
Identifying maintenance improvement opportunities and developing an action plan to deliver.
Ensuring budgetary targets and departmental KPIs are met
Promote and comply with legislative and business compliance standards such as health, safety, environmental, GEP (good engineering practice) and quality
Maintain and manage and Engineering team
Drive a proactive, continuous improvement engineering culture, promoting change whilst supporting the manufacturing strategy
Dictate engineering equipment and installation standards
Negotiate contract and supply costs, ensuring value for money
Maintain an appreciation of technical developments
Manage minor projects which deliver professional standards and maintain competitive edge
Co-ordinate shut down activities and deliver planned work to time / cost / quality requirements
Lead performance management with multiskilling and apprenticeships programmes
Provide engineering management information, technical information, expertise and support
Ownership of cap ex projects
Promote and deliver PPM programme
You will be an Engineering Team Leader or Engineering Manager used to working within a high speed manufacturing environment. You will have a recognised apprenticeship and a proven track record of achievements. To apply please contact Mike Cairns on 0151 666857
