Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities include:
Install, upgrade, assemble and configure computers, operating systems / software and network
Infrastructure and peripherals to agreed standards.
Experience of supporting technical change programmes, particularly those tasked with modernising IT landscapes and the digitisation of business activities.
Good communicator, able to engage with colleagues, partners and business stakeholders in support of gathering requirements and the development & implementation of proposed solutions.
Ensure that all internal systems are fully operational, investigating hardware, application user issues or account errors; Supporting moves/adds/changes/deletes for the Back Office applications;
Create/maintain the knowledge base content for regular/recurring support issues.
Ensure all IT hardware is fully patched and virus definitions are up to date and functioning correctly.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues submitted to IT.
Assist with IT and business management in facilitating routine Disaster Recovery / Business
Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
Conduct research of new networking technologies where applicable
Suggest hardware and software acquisition recommendations
Maintain knowledge of current and emergent hardware, software and network technologies
Ensure that all IT hardware is recording in company asset database.
Carry out procedures for regular back-ups of all systems on Servers. Ensure that backups are successful, secure and ensure that systems can be recovered for business continuity.
Record all IT Incidents and Service Requests on helpdesk.
Creation of Knowledge Base articles to develop organisation learning.
Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies at all times in regards to yourself,
colleagues, contractors and visitors
You will be an Infrastructure Engineer used to being first line response. This role will also deputise for the IT manager in their absence.
You will have excellent communication skills and experience in exposure of supporting MRP/ERP systems.
A full driving licence/own transport will be required for this role.
