The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity within global manufacturing business, for a senior or Lead Engineer or someone looking for a step up in seniority, based on our clients Wrexham site. Within the role you'll have one direct report and will oversee the entire facility, covering machine maintenance, contractor supervision, management meetings and building maintenance.

If you are looking to maintain or gain some further responsibility and in the long term gain the skills and move towards an Engineering Managers role then this might be a really well suited opportunity for you. Our clients Wrexham site is a plastic recycling and manufacturing plant, operating a range of equipment. We’re looking for anyone working within a fast paced manufacturing plant, recycling plant, FMCG or automated distribution centre for this role, with experience of plastic extrusion processes. This is a global business with facilities in 47 countries and counting, and comfortably over 500 UK based employees spread over 3 sites, so certainly a role that can offer stability and training and development in the future.

The role is hands on, we’re looking for an electrically biased engineer who is comfortable working autonomously but just needs some development. You'll form a team that looks after the site and you'll have a good degree of responsibility within the business. The sites current engineer is moving into a shift based role and leaves the business at the end of the year, so in the interim the Engineering Assistant will assume the running of the plant.

With the role you’ll:

-Oversee plant maintenance, machine maintenance, building maintenance, oversee/source sub-contractors and attend management meetings regarding site operations.
-Electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair work (basic PLC fault finding would be an advantage
-Reactive and Planned maintenance on extruders, conveyors, panels, motors, sensors, e-stops and rollers on site
-Basic mechanical work including bearings, shafts, hydraulics/ pneumatics
-The more you can cover on site the better, however if you lack a certain skill sub-contractors can be called in to carry out the work.
-Work with other Engineers on Scotland site who installed this site to keep it running
-Suggest improvements projects and also help develop their existing PPM schedule

Qualifications

17th edition
Electrically time served would be an advantage
Experience working in past paced manufacturing/production environment
Basic Mechanical Competency (no certification required)
Plastic Extrusion Maintenance Experience
