Shift based Mon - Fri 3 shift (Moving to 4 on 4 off in the new year)
A great opportunity to join an expanding engineering team within a well established £50m + turnover manufacturing business based in the North West. Our client are currently enjoying a real period of success and have plans to double the size of their site and engineering team in the next couple of years.
Due to successes, they are currently seeing a large amount of investment the business adding brand new warehouses, production lines, laboratories, and therefore have seen the shift engineering team increase in numbers to compensate.
The role will involve support the plant which operates 24/5 currently and will be switching to a 4 on 4 off shift pattern in January 2018 due to demand, you'll be joining a team of 7 engineers that they have already and reporting into their engineering manager.
If you have a mechanical bias with basic electrical fault finding skills then you would be an advantage. You’ll be working on Extruders, Mixers, Classifiers, Motors, Pumps, Drives and Compressors, but there will be training provided on this if you have worked on slightly different equipment. You'll get exposure on a number of new installs, reactive maintenance and helping influence the planned maintenance culture moving forwards.
Currently the site is quite reactive in terms of its maintenance program, but the Engineering Manager is looking to change this towards a more PPM driven environment, so if you are interested in being part of this and influencing how this is implemented then this role might be of real interest.
The site is an industrial manufacturing site, and parts of the plant can be quite dirty due to the process and product range which they manufacture.
Background wise, ideally you’ll be time served and have working a manufacturing or plant based environment as part of the maintenance team as an engineer or a technician.
You’ll be keen on joining a business of over 150 employees and with real ambition to continue growing.
Time served mechanical engineer/technician
NVQ or C&G Level 3 or Equivalent
17th/18th Edition would be advantageous
