If you enjoy operating as a hands on maintenance engineer, fixing predominantly electrical issues with some mechanical issues on a large number of fast moving production lines this role could be for you. Our client product range is used in a wide variety of industries from automotive, HVAC, IT and cycling with a longstanding and growing client base.
The Role and Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced electrical maintenance engineer with a decent mechanical understanding, you’ll want to work for a business who embrace 5S, TPM and are working to the WCM ideology. You may be a time served engineer, or you may have come from a forces background and moved into manufacturing. The key traits the client looks for are people who want to contribute new ideas, who will embrace continuous improvement, have strong fault finding and hands on maintenance experience and are team players.
You'll be accustomed dealing with planned and reactive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, equipment repair, managing stock and spares, complying with health and safety etc. Essentially the usual stuff, but working for a business that's got good staff retention, training opportunities and can develop up the ladder, meaning you'll be looked after and made to feel wanted and will work with a great bunch of people.
The role requires a committed individual that will be flexible, this role is a days based role Mon - Fri, but will require you to be part of a callout rota and potential overseas travel for training and to visit other plants on occasion. , you'll enjoy working in part of a team, working underneath the Maintenance Team Leader and with 3 other engineers, an apprentice and an automation technician.
You'll be a team player, a good communicator, loyal and looking to bring new ideas to the table to help improve the engineering department overall.
Ideally you'll be time served, but we can also consider people from a forces background if they have gained FMCG or similar manufacturing experience alongside this. You'll be very hands on working from fault to fault, this is not a line based role, but more of a traditional engineering maintenance department fixing given faults when they occur type of role on a reactive but also proactive basis.
NVQ, HNC, C&G or equivalent Electrical or Mechanical
Some exposure to PLC’s at fault finding level would be advantageous but not essential.
