Mechanical Fitters – Sellafield

Location: Sellafield, Cumbria
Rate: NAECI Grade 5 
Duration: 6 months initially, with a strong likelihood of extension
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start: Immediate starts available, with further positions planned for the New Year

We are currently recruiting Mechanical Fitters to support a major decommissioning project at Sellafield. We need two fitters immediately, with three more positions expected to become available in the New Year.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical decommissioning and dismantling activities

• Draining down pipework and process systems

• Isolating equipment and operating valves

• Removing residual liquids and process materials from systems

• Breaking into pipework and removing redundant sections

• Depressurising systems and preparing plant for decommissioning

• Following site procedures and maintaining high health and safety standards

Essential Requirements

• P4 Pass already in place

• SC Security Clearance already in place

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline

• Valid CSCS card

• Comfortable working in a respiratory protective suit

• Willingness to complete a pre-start drugs and alcohol test

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am–3:45pm

• Friday: 7:00am–12:00pm

• Approximately 40 hours per week

• Overtime may be available depending on project requirements
