We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of Mechanical Handling and Cylinder Storage Equipment within a new-build, highly regulated facility. The role will focus on producing detailed 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and supporting the integration of mechanical equipment into the wider BIM model of the facility.
Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed 3D designs and models using Autodesk Inventor

Design structural steel equipment including stillages, cradles, stacking blocks, and other cylinder storage solutions

Develop storage systems for sample bottles, such as racks and storage arrays, within designated rooms

Design mechanical handling equipment, including overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and rail transporters

Create models suitable for visualisation purposes and integration into the facility BIM model

Produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings to support design development and delivery

Support material selection and determine appropriate material thicknesses for structural performance
Skills & Experience

Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor

Proven experience developing 3D models using structural steel components

Strong understanding of material selection and structural design considerations

Experience producing GA drawings

Background in mechanical handling or industrial equipment design preferred

Ability to work within secure and regulated environments
