Senior Civil Structural Engineer (Contract)
Location: Manchester (with occasional site and client visits) - Hybrid
Duration: 6 months
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
We are currently supporting the mobilisation of a short-term design contract within the regulated infrastructure sector and are seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to lead the delivery of high-quality technical solutions across a fast-paced, multidisciplinary programme.
This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives working independently, communicates effectively across disciplines, and brings a strong focus on quality and compliance in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver structural analysis, detailed calculations, design specifications, and technical reports.

Collaborate closely with BIM teams to ensure accurate translation of designs into models.

Engage with multi-disciplinary teams, attend design reviews, and participate in client meetings.

Conduct occasional site visits to support technical resolution and monitor progress.

Mentor and support junior engineers, reviewing their work and promoting best practice.

Represent the civil/structural discipline confidently with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
About You

5–10 years of experience in civil or structural engineering.

Background in nuclear, oil & gas, or complex process industries preferred.

Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum BEng).

Chartered status with ICE or IStructE is advantageous.

Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and client-facing settings.

CSCS card and willingness to attend site as required.
