Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Reading – Hybrid working model
Industry: Nuclear & Defence
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent or Contract
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: ASAP

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Input to the Project Management Plan and other strategy and high-level control documentation.

  • Undertake studies and develop solutions to deliver the project’s end point requirements.

  • Prepare documentation to support project delivery, including:

    • Control Plans

    • Method Statements

    • Risk Assessments

    • LTQR documentation

  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to identify services, plant, and equipment required.

  • Liaise with procurement to ensure all items are procured in line with company procedures.

  • Manage project documentation.

  • Liaise with supervisors to support coordination and management of operatives and technicians.

  • Manage operatives and technicians as required under the guidance of the Project Manager.

  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across disciplines to achieve project goals.

  • Support the Project Manager with:

    • Management of activities in accordance with the QSHEW Management System and best practice

    • Provision of information to maintain the project programme

    • Cost tracking and forecasting

    • Identification and communication of project risks and opportunities

    • Stakeholder liaison and management

    • Subcontractor and supplier management and expediting

Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical discipline – Desirable

  • Membership of a professional/technical body – Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely or H&S qualification – Training can be provided

Experience & Skills

  • Solid understanding of the project lifecycle – Essential

  • Familiarity with the UK nuclear sector – Essential

  • Knowledge of radiological controls and QSHEW systems – Desirable

  • Proficient in MS Office suite – Essential

  • Strong organisational and reporting skills – Essential

  • Ability to assess technical data and communicate across all levels – Essential

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 standards – Essential
